The "Short on the Way" project is a joint initiative of the Israel Film Fund and the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival. The project aims to strengthen the status of the short film and provide a platform for young filmmakers at the beginning of their professional careers, as they prepare for their first feature film.
“Short on the Way” is a collaboration between the Israel Film Fund and the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival, created to strengthen the status of the short film and enable emerging filmmakers at the beginning of their professional journey to develop their first steps toward creating a feature-length film. This year, filmmakers were invited to submit their projects on the theme of “Rhythm.” From all submissions, five screenplays were selected, and their creators were invited to present them before a joint committee of the Fund and the Festival. During the festival, the five filmmakers will present their projects live. At the closing ceremony, the winning project will be announced and awarded a production grant from the Israel Film Fund, along with equipment and post-production grants. Upon completion of production, the winning film will be screened in a festive pre-premiere screening at the opening event of the 29th edition of the festival in 2027.
