The festival is proud to present the Israeli premiere of the latest film by rising director Kantemir Balagov, which opened this year's Directors' Fortnight section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. Balagov established himself as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary cinema with his films Closeness and Beanpole, which earned him the FIPRESCI Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes in 2017 and 2019.
A Circassian-American teen in New Jersey balances working at his family's struggling ethnic diner with his wrestling aspirations, until his father's risky decision forces him to face harsh realities and grow up quickly.
