We are thrilled to invite you to an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind opportunity: an intimate, exclusive, and hands-on masterclass with one of the most prominent and influential composers in world cinema today, Evgueni Galperine.

Galperine boasts an illustrious and remarkably diverse career, spanning commercial hits, independent cinema, top-tier television series, and acclaimed solo musical works. Among his most notable projects are Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Loveless (which won the European Film Award for Best Original Score), Audrey Diwan's Happening (winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival), the hit Netflix series Baby Reindeer, and numerous other projects across various mediums that showcase his rare versatility.

What will we do in the masterclass? Grounded in the philosophy that film scoring is the product of a deep, collaborative dialogue, this masterclass will focus on practical, hands-on work with four selected short student films. Evgueni will review the projects live with the group, dedicating 30 minutes to each film. He will engage in an open discussion with the filmmakers, analyze the specific musical, dramatic, and artistic needs of each piece. This offers a unique learning experience – both through direct, focused feedback on your own film and by watching and analyzing your peers' work.

Please note: Each accepted project is required to attend as a creative team: Director + Composer, or a trio of Director + Composer + Editor. The masterclass is closed to the public; only selected participants will be permitted to attend.

Schedule & Structure:

• Introduction: Opening remarks by Evgueni Galperine.

• Part I – Deep Dive into Projects (First Half): Hands-on, intimate work on the selected films. Evgueni will review the projects with the group, dedicating 30 minutes of focused analysis and feedback to each film regarding its musical and dramatic needs.

• Short Break

• Part II – Deep Dive into Projects (Second Half): Continuing work on the remaining films, followed by an open, wrapping-up discussion on the creative dialogue between directors, editors, and composers.

  Important Technical Details:

• When: Friday, June 26th | 11:00 – 14:00.

• Admissions & Capacity: The masterclass is exclusive and restricted to selected participants only. Up to 5 projects in the Fine Cut / advanced Rough Cut stage will be selected.

• Team Requirements: Every accepted project must participate as a team: either a Director + Composer duo, or a Director + Composer + Editor trio. Projects that have not yet attached a composer will not be considered.

• Participation Fee: Accepted teams will pay a commitment fee of 50 ILS (per team, covering all participating members).

• Mandatory Requirement (Preparation): Since the masterclass relies on peer-to-peer learning, it is mandatory to watch all five participating films in advance. Viewing links will be sent to the accepted teams ahead of time.
